A single unit you pull out with the syringe is 0.01ml. The rule to follow is that you need nine units per every 10 milliliters of water. For example, if you are making 20 milliliters of bacteriostatic water, you will need 18 units of benzyl alcohol.
  3. Use the syringe to draw the benzyl alcohol from its vial. Transfer it to the storage container. Repeat the process until you have enough units in the storage vial. Make sure to keep accurate track of how many units you already added.
  4. Add the water that needs to be sterile to the storage vial. Make sure that you measure a proportionate quantity of water when compared to the benzyl alcohol you previously transferred into the vial.
