Getting through your day with aches and pains is never any fun. Unfortunately, this is the norm for millions of people around the world. Whether it’s a back ache that slows your momentum or a stiff neck from a bad night sleep, staying focused isn't always easy. One of the most common pains and sometimes the most serious is a headache. This can be the kind that comes on with stress throughout the day or the one that greets you when you open your eyes first thing in the morning. Either way, headaches can and do ruin your day in a hurry.
Before you run to the medicine cabinet to grab the aspirin or other pills, you might want to give these natural headache cures a try. They don't contain poisonous pharmaceuticals and they are easy to find.
Unflavored yogurt: Yogurt contains the vitamin Riboflavin. This is also known as B2 which is a member of the B Complex family. B Complex has been used to reduce headaches and migraines. Milk, vegetables, and liver all contain B vitamins. If you are on the go, a B Complex transdermal skin patch is a great option as well.
Fish: Tuna, salmon, and mackerel are high in Omega-3 fatty acids which work as an anti inflammatory. Along with nerve protection properties, these good fats can reduce symptoms and severity of your headaches. Omega-3 fatty acids can also be found in transdermal skin patches for ease of use and convenience.
Fruits or vegetables with high water content: Veggies such as cucumbers and fruits such as watermelon are great for keeping the body hydrated. Headaches can be intensified by dehydration so keeping the body full of fluids is a plus.
Anytime food or natural additions such as skin patches can be used to ease the pain the better. If the pain is too bad or comes on very sudden, a trip to your doctor or the ER may be needed. Common sense and body awareness can make health and happiness a natural and prolonged way of life.
