Finding The Weight Loss Diet That’s Right For You

What Diet Should You Try? No one diet is perfect program for everyone. The trick is to find the diet that best fits with your life style and emotional temperament. There are many things to consider when seeking out your perfect diet. Here are some information about some of the more popular diets.
South Beach Diet*
This is a great diet that is easy to maintain if you can stick with it. It was designed by a Miami cardiologist who found that, while giving his patients a heart healthy diet to follow, they were simultaneously losing a tremendous amount of weight.
The first few weeks are the roughest because you must eliminate all forms of carbohydrate from your diet including fruit. However, following these initial weeks, it is a fairly easy diet to maintain. One of its focuses is on eating until satiety, so you will never go hungry. A drawback of this program is that, in order to see results, you must purchase the South Beach diet book and closely read it cover to cover.
Slimfast*
This program is based on restricting calories through replacing two meals and two snacks a day with slim fast shakes, bars and other products. One meal a day is considered a “free” meal but should still be a low calorie meal.
This diet may be good for someone on the go, since the shakes and bars can be eaten whenever, wherever. However, eating only the shakes and bars for most meals may make you deficient in many nutrients including calcium. If you choose this route, be sure to take a daily multi-vitamin. Calcium and vitamin C supplements might also need to be considered.
An additional drawback of this program is the cost. The Slimfast products can be pricey and the monotony of eating the same food every day might wear on you.
Jenny Craig/Nutrisystem*
The basis of each of these programs is pretty much the same so I grouped them together into one category. Each program provides prepackaged, calorie restricted meals and snacks in order to ensure that proper nutrition and adequate calories for weight loss are maintained.
Both programs are approved by medical professionals and are proven to be nutritionally balanced. Yet, each program still recommends a daily multivitamin. These programs may be a good choice for the busy dieter who doesn’t have time to shop for or think about cooking healthy food. However, the food items can become costly and boring. These programs are also not very conducive to eating out or maintaining weight loss because individuals never learn how to eat right without their prepackaged meal.
LA Weight Loss*
This program is based on a three-step guide to weight management as well as weekly counseling sessions. It provides a list of foods to eat and counselors teach clients when to eat these foods and how much to eat. All of the foods listed are available at the grocery store so they are easy to get items. Counselors also teach clients about eating out and how to make good choices. However, counselors are not nutritionally or medically trained and many times may be pushing unnecessary supplements or products instead of actual proper nutrition practices.
Weight Watchers*
This is my personal favorite because I love to eat all different types of food. There are no restricted foods so it is easy to work into your life. The basis of this program is a point system. Each individual is allowed a certain amount of points a day plus flexible points to use as needed throughout the week.
Foods are given a point value based on their fat, fiber and calorie content. As long as you remain within your daily point allotment you will lose and maintain weight loss. My favorite part of this program is that it teaches you the nutritional value of each food through the points allotted to that food. This process will not only help you lose weight but maintain your weight loss for life by teaching you steps to living a healthy lifestyle. The Weight Watchers program also offers group counseling and has at-home and online programs available for the dieter on the go.
So which diet works best for you? Each is very different. Remember; try to pick one that works best with your life style and temperament. If it doesn’t work, try another one.
Oh, we almost forgot to mention that HGH supplementation with Ageforce® is the most effective way to loose weight permanently without strict diets!
